Kitesurf

Macapá beach is considered one of the best beaches in Brazil and the world for the practice of this sport, which has begun to attract new kitesurfers every year. With its warm waters, and the great occurrence of constant winds, varying from light to strong, it is ideal for beginners of kitesurfing and also for having fun at a high level.

The name results from two English words: "Kite" and "Surf", to navigate. Kitesurfing was invented in 1985 by two French brothers: Bruno and Dominique Legaignoux, but only achieved popularity in the mid-1990s.

The practitioner uses a board with a support structure for the feet, with a kite attached to the waist. The kitesurfer stands on the board over water that is propelled by the wind. The equipment that is used to hold the surfer around his waist is called a "trapeze", it is like a belt that is also attached to the "Chicken loop", which is part of the bar that is also connected to the kite by its lines. Come and practice kitesurfing in Macapá Beach, in Piauí.

Stand Up Paddle

Surfing modality in which the practitioner stands on a board using a paddle to glide along the beach. Stand Up Paddle, also known as SUP, began in the 1940s in Hawaii. Instructors paddled standing on huge wooden boards in order to accompany their students during surfing lessons. There was no specific definition for this type of practice, but gradually, more and more surfers started practising SUP and producing the necessary equipment. Brazil got to know the sport through Rico de Souza, considered one of the "living legends" of national surfing. Come and enjoy and practise this sport on the beautiful Macapá beach, on the coast of Piauí.
